Apart from mathematics, I also enjoy excellent coffee—I’m still mustering the courage to try Kopi Luwak. I have a passion for good comedies, architecture and interior design, politics, medicine and biology. I enjoy walking, hiking and traveling, and I have a deep appreciation for the book The Little Prince, animals, and natural landscapes. I’m drawn to unique vehicles and currently own a recumbent trike.
Some countries I have been to are: Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chili, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Peru, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, United Kingdom (England and Scotland), United States, Uruguay.
I am a signatory to the Commitment to gender equity at scholarly conferences petition.
I share Federico Ardila-Mantilla’s axioms:
Axiom 1: Mathematical talent is distributed equally among different groups, irrespective of geographic, demographic, and economic boundaries.
Axiom 2: Everyone can have joyful, meaningful, and empowering mathematical experiences.
Axiom 3: Mathematics is a powerful, malleable tool that can be shaped and used differently by various communities to serve their needs.
Axiom 4: Every student deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.
